With portable devices and wireless networks, a new potential is arising to improve teaching in collocated, remote and hybrid scenarios. This can be achieved by a suitable mixture of theoretical and practical elements, where students can try out applications by themselves during lectures. Existing systems for application sharing do not cope with the specific requirements of this environment. Hence, the system SASCIA (System architecture supporting cooperative and interactive applications) has been developed and tested successfully.
