I am pleased to announce the appointment of an applications editor, Dr Claus Thybo of Danfoss A/S, Nordborg, Denmark. The editorial board of the journal is keen to ensure a flow of applications papers in addition to the regular flow of scientific studies. The appointment of Dr Thybo is a recognition that applications papers deserve greater attention than in the past. Dr Thybo is responsible for control engineering research activities at the Central R&D Group for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning within the company. His main task is to monitor and support research activities. He is particularly involved with nurturing theoretical results and ensuring technology transfer into products.
