We propose a new approach to broadband {MIMO} precoding and equalisation by the use of a broadband singular value decomposition to decouple the {MIMO} system matrix into independent subchannels. {I}n a second step, {ISI} present in the subchannels is eliminated using methods developed for {SISO} systems. {A} numerical example is given.
