Abstract

The title compound, C15H13NO3, crystallizes with three independent molecules per asymmetric unit (Z' = 3). One of these molecules is found to have a configuration with a greater twist between its two aromatic rings than the other two [compare 70.26 (13) and 72.31 (12)degrees with 84.22 (12)degrees]. There are also differences in the number and nature of the weak intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O contacts formed by each of the three molecules.
