Abstract
The papers in this memorial volume, invited by the Editors, have been written by authors who knew Frank Leslie, some over many years, and their current research interests fit broadly into areas covered by this journal. Some of the authors are particularly indebted to Frank for his help and support. The subjects covered reflect Frank's research interests and his major contributions to liquid crystal theory.
